Workflow

Cursor is an editor first. It's a VS Code-style IDE with Tab completion, inline edits and an agent panel, plus cloud agents and Bugbot code review on Premium and above.

Claude Code is an agent first. It lives in the terminal (with IDE and web surfaces) and does best when you hand it a whole task: plan, edit many files, run tests, iterate. CLAUDE.md memory and subagents make it very steerable.

Copilot is everywhere: VS Code, JetBrains, the CLI and GitHub itself, where its coding agent works straight from issues and PRs.

Which one should you pick?

Pick Cursor if you want to stay in an editor and steer closely, and you're fine with the X Subscription bundle.

Pick Claude Code if you delegate big chunks of work and review the diffs. It's the strongest for refactors and long autonomous runs.

Pick Copilot if price matters most or your team lives on GitHub. Plenty of developers combine Copilot with Claude Code.
