The short answer
Pick Lovable if several people will build in one workspace. Plans are priced by credits, not seats, and every plan allows unlimited members who share the workspace's credit pool.
Pick Bolt.new if you're a solo builder who wants a big monthly allowance and the cheapest annual price. Pro is $18/mo billed annually ($25 billed monthly), includes 10M tokens a month with rollover, and has no daily token limit.

Free plans
Lovable Free gives a daily grant of 5 build credits (up to 30 a month), 20 Cloud credits a month for hosting, and 4 credits to try AI features inside your app. No credit card is needed, and you get unlimited collaborators and 5 lovable.app domains.
Bolt Free gives 1M tokens a month with a 300K daily cap, public and private projects, unlimited databases and website hosting, with Bolt branding on your sites. No card is needed.
Credits vs tokens: how you actually get charged
Lovable charges per message. Plan Mode costs 1 credit per message, and Default Mode varies with the task. Lovable's own examples run from 0.50 credits for making a button gray to 1.70 credits for a landing page with three generated images. Paid plans also get the daily 5 build credits, monthly plan credits expire two months after they're issued, and top-ups last 12 months.
Bolt charges in AI tokens, and most of them go to syncing your project's files to the AI, so the bigger the project, the more each message costs. Pro starts at 10M tokens a month, unused tokens roll over, and there's no daily limit. That's generous for prototypes, but large apps can burn through it.
Teams and hosting
For a five-person team, Lovable Business is $50/mo flat because members are unlimited (they share 100 credits), while Bolt Teams is $150/mo billed monthly (5 x $30), with 10M tokens per member. Lovable is cheaper on paper, but Bolt gives each member their own allowance.
Both host what you build. Lovable says hosting for most small or new apps is covered by the included Cloud grant, with bigger apps drawing on your credit balance. Bolt includes website hosting on every plan, and custom domains, no branding and SEO boosting start on Pro.
